Photos marked “Our example print” show one of our example prints, taken from its actual print file and shown in a styled setting; the Place History Book is shown with our Grantchester sample book, made from its print file. Photos marked “Illustration” or “Styled example” show how a finished item looks, with sample pages we have typeset ourselves; example print files for those are on the way. The names on the examples are sample names. Your own item is made the same way from the records for your date, place or names, and you see a proof before anything is printed. Look through the Grantchester sample book.

Where every fact comes from
Every book ends with its sources, numbered to the text, so anyone can check our work. These are three of the six from the sample:
- A. P. M. Wright et al., “Grantchester”, in A History of the County of Cambridge and the Isle of Ely, vol. 5, ed. C. R. Elrington (London: Victoria County History, 1973), pp. 198–214.
- Historic England, National Heritage List for England: list entries 1309436, 1309385, 1127790 and others.
- Ordnance Survey, six-inch to the mile, Cambridgeshire sheet XLVII.SW (surveyed 1885, published 1886). National Library of Scotland.

How it works
1. Tell us the details
A place, a date, a car or a list of places, plus a dedication for the person receiving it.
2. We research it
We search published histories, old maps and public archives. Every fact is checked against its source and cited, and gaps are flagged honestly.
3. Proof, then print
You get an emailed proof for prints and books. PDFs arrive by email. Physical items are printed and posted to the address you give us.
